SALUDA NEWS LETTER By Julia Ann Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Skeen, of Coral Gables, Fla. have bought the ■Tohn Robertson place on the Thompson Road, just outside the Saluda city limits, and plan to make this their home. The Rev. John Elliott, Presby terian preacher of Roanoke, Va., who was at one time a resident of Saluda, stopped while passing through last week and visited sev eral friends. Dr. W. M. Elliott, his father, who was pastor of the Saluda Presbyterian Church for many years, is now living in Colo rado City, Texas, although he is 84 years old, he still attends church and social services. Reese Rhodes is in the Gaston Hospital at Travelers Rest, S. C., verv ill. Nit a Holbert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Holbert fell down the stair steps while playing at her grandparents house last week-end and suffered a slight concussion. She was taken to Hendersonville for medical care and is improving. Mrs. Francis Whatley Williams of Hendersonville has ■ bought the E. H. Gaines house on Henderson Street and expects to make this her home. At present Mrs. Wil liams is staying at the Saluda Inn until she can get settled in her new place. John Rhodes, who has been very ill in the Mountain Sanatorium at Fletcher has returned home much improved. Mrs. O. V. Mrs. Armstrong’s husband, the Rev. Mr. Armstrong, was the pas tor of the Saluda Presbyterian Church for several years before his death. Mrs. Armstrong has a host of friends- who wish her well in this new field of work in Formosa. Juk'a Ann Johnson spent last week-end with Miss Virginia Dal ton, a cousin, in Hendersonville, where Miss Dalton celebrated her birthday Saturday night. Mrs. Frank Pitts, who returned from the Black Mountain hospital last week is not doing so well will again enter the hospital week. INSURANCE CARL T.
